France 2030 · Inserm — Health Research Programmes Agency
PEPR TREASURE
The Priority Research Programme and Equipment dedicated to organ transplantation. Our ambition: to significantly improve transplant outcomes through a unique approach that unites France’s entire transplantation community — across all organs.
- Kidney
- Liver
- Heart
- Lung
- Trachea
- Islets
- Composite tissues

A unified, multidisciplinary approach
TREASURE brings together researchers, clinicians, engineers, medical and surgical specialties, anaesthetist-intensivists, biologists, immunologists and pathologists — as well as learned societies, hospitals, public institutions, patient associations and industry partners in pharma and MedTech. The goal: to create new infrastructures and cutting-edge technologies that transform how transplants are performed, monitored and evaluated.
2025–2030 objectives
Five clinical objectives over five years, driven by the programme’s research infrastructures.
- +15%more successful transplants, by optimising organ allocation and preservation with predictive AI models and ex-situ perfusion machines.
- +20 / +40%more tracheal transplants (+20%) and pancreatic islet transplants (+40%).
- −50%fewer invasive procedures (biopsies of the transplanted organ) with no therapeutic impact.
- 30%of “rejection” diagnoses reclassified through precision immunology (molecular and digital microscopy).
- 20 centresat least, equipped with digital precision-diagnosis tools before and after transplantation — the “AI transplant clinic”.
Our areas of innovation
- Linking and leveraging transplantation data
- Artificial intelligence & predictive models
- Perfusion machines & regional hubs
- New biomarkers and diagnostic platforms
- Advanced immune-monitoring tools
- Harmonised workflows for collaborative research
